Canadian rider warms up for X Games with trick to honour iconic boxing movie.
Snowboarder Sébastien Toutant warmed up for this week’s 2019 Winter X Games in Aspen with a trip to the famous ‘Rocky Steps’ that lead up to the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Canadian Toutant is a two-time X Games slopestyle champion, who also took gold in the big air competition at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Games.
The Montreal native had looked for somewhere to pull off an iconic trick for some time and travelled down to one of the most popular attractions in Philadelphia.
Inspired by the famous ‘Rocky’ movie sequence on the legendary steps in 1976, in which the boxer played by Sylvester Stallone runs up them as part of his training, the 26-year-old attempted a 72 stair multi-kinked rail slide on his snowboard.
Toutant fell down a few times but rose from the snowy canvas to complete the eye-catching slide from top to bottom.
He now moves on to Colorado’s Buttermilk Mountain from January 24-27 where he will pit his wits against the world’s elite in big air and slopestyle.
